Six Sigma helps E-Z-GO improve its performance

Golf car and vehicle manufacturer E-Z-GO has revealed that its adoption of Six Sigma strategies has helped it win major recognition.The company's world headquarters in Augusta, Georgia has been named one of IndustryWeek's 2009 Best Plants of the Year and the company has revealed that Six Sigma has played a key role in its operations recently.
Quality control processes based on the methodology have helped the firm reach a plant-wide first-time quality rate of greater than 98 per cent, while employees have also been trained at every level of the concept.
Kevin P Holleran, president of E-Z-GO said the use of Six Sigma had led to "dramatic performances in eliminating wasteful practices and driving enhanced productivity".
He added that the company is "committed to continued innovation and improvement so that we can continue to exceed our customers' expectations".
Last week, global paint supplier PPG Industries' MVP Business Solutions division published its latest Lean Six Sigma training schedule.
