AOTMP adapts Six Sigma for telecoms

AOTMP has developed a new business process management technique aimed at bringing Six Sigma-style improvements to the field of enterprise telecom.

According to the company, its proprietary model will help firms working in the field achieve the best possible return on network and telecom services.

Tim Lybrook, president and chief executive officer of AOTMP, explained that other areas of IT have already embraced Six Sigma, but the company's package should help drive down costs further.

"We believe telecom has its own set of considerations, management processes, and performance indicators that impact productivity, efficiency, and the ability for telecom to help drive business growth," he said.

Although some areas of IT, such as servers and storage, have become cheaper in the last few years, telecoms costs are continuing to rise, particularly as businesses look to go mobile, he added.

Recently, cosmetics giant L'Oreal revealed that it has been able to boost its profit margins through the use of Six Sigma processes.ADNFCR-1942-ID-19198716-ADNFCR
