Recession 'perfect for Six Sigma training'

News brought to you by IQPC.

The recession could be the perfect time for those looking to achieve a Six Sigma qualification to do so, according to one expert.

According to Delya Bakhisheva, a spokesperson for consultancy firm Level Six Partners, the current turbulence in the jobs market means now is an excellent time for those looking to take the plunge and retrain.

He advised people to match their qualifications to the needs of business.

"As a consultant or contractor, customers are looking for skills their current workforce does not have. Degrees, MBA's, MS Degrees, Six Sigma Certifications, PMP Certifications, CPA accreditations are powerful skills employers are looking to augment their current workforce," Mr Bakhisheva said.

Yesterday, Evan J Miller, a software developer at business process improvement firm Hertzler Systems, stated that the recession has not reduced the number of firms looking to make use of its Six Sigma expertise.

Although some firms are looking to reduce spending as much as possible, others are still hiring outside contractors, he explained.
